I have given up on Windows 7 and reinstalled Linux. The SSD ("hard drive" though it's just basically RAM) is only 8 gigabytes in my Dell Mini 9. Windows 7, eye candy that it is, takes up about 7.5 gigs of that, while Linux almost takes up 4. I might shell out an extra $100 for a bigger SSD if I can find one that fits the tiny device but it's not my top priority. Plus a year from now I'd have to pay for a final copy of W7 anyway.
I can't help but miss W7 though. It's not a better OS, but the world is optimized for it. Plug and Play for Linux is less a slogan and more a cruel joke. Aw, what the hell. It's a netbook. As long as the browser works, I'm covered.
