I had dinner tonight at Koo Koo Roo, a chain of grilled chicken restaurants here in SoCal. They're known for healthy poultry-based meals. Anyway, I'm sitting facing the counter and I noticed something bannered across the wall over the heads of the cashiers:
MARKET FRESH CHICKEN FLAVOR
I stared at for so long that my garlic roasted potatoes got cold. Because you know, it's a phrase that is appealing but at the same time doesn't mean anything. I defy you to nail down what they're saying with those four words.

Chicken that is fresh from the market tastes better than chicken that is frozen and shipped.
That's what they want you to think; but how do I know that they didn't freshly buy frozen chicken?
By the way, for the record their chicken is awfully good. Superdelicious.
How do you know it's really chicken?
Well duh... because it TASTES LIKE...
Uh oh.
Maybe there should be more regulations, and more regulators to inspect every restaurant, every day, to ensure that it really IS chicken.
As soon as you said "healthy poultry-based meals" I lost interest. "No fry? I say WHY?"
Chick-Fil-A, Publius.
Ditch the bun and the pickles, and you can get a fried breast, that tastes the best!
