Romney Apology Raises Troubling Questions

You may recall that I hold the opinion that going back into candidates' childhoods and even college years is stupid. We all realize that whatever mistakes we made growing up, that's how we learned to be adults. So if Mitt Romney harassed a gay kid when he was in prep school, I sincerely believe it's a non-issue NOW. Similarly I don't care what Obama's grades were in college. Good grades aren't a constitutional requirement for Presidency.

It's the things you do now that illustrate your character.

So here's what Mitt Romney did last week.

“Back in high school,” Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said today, “I did some dumb things, and if anybody was hurt by that or offended, obviously I apologize.”

At the same time, Romney maintained in an interview on Fox News Radio that he couldn’t recall the incident for which he was apologizing: As reported in the Washington Post, the accounts of several then-teenage classmates of Romney at the all-boys Cranbrook School in Michigan recalling him and a group shoving and cutting the long hair of a student presumed to be gay.

“I certainly don’t believe that I thought the fellow was homosexual,” Romney said of the fellow prep school student. “That was the furthest thing from our minds back in the 1960s, so that was not the case.”
So what does this say about Mitt Romney?

1. Whether he did something or not, he'll apologize for it. Happy now?
1a. He's not the kind of guy who would remember whether he beat up a kid in prep school. Either he beat up so many of them that he can't pick one particular one out, or - well, that's really the only possibility if he's telling the truth.
2. He'd rather not tell you whether he thinks it's wrong to beat up a fellow student; he's just sorry if YOU think it's wrong.
3. He uses the term "fellow" in conversation, even though he is not Mr. Peanut.

So, judge him accordingly.

It's Not Racist, It's Anti-American

A little controversey over this picture below, which was swiped from elsewhere to illustrate a blog post by Tara Servatius, who used to be a Florida radio personality before she was fired because she used the picture:

Let's just ignore the KFC for a second, shall we? My question is, how does depicting the Commander in Chief like this NOT embolden the enemy? I mean, if you're a terrorist isn't this exactly what you're looking for to boost morale?

The Gay Agenda Claims Another Victim

Courageous Assistant Attorney General Andrew Shirvell has has been forced to take a leave of absense and will be facing disciplinary action just for exercising his free speech! You may recall he had a blog which criticized the Gay Student Body President of University of Michigan, Chris Armstrong. Isn't it the JOB of government to single out college students and wreck their lives?

The national buzz around the blog began when Shirvell appeared on Cooper's show on Tuesday evening.

"This is a political campaign. This is nothing personal against Chris," Shirvell told Cooper.

Shirvell's blog also features a photo of Armstrong with a swastika painted on a rainbow flag and the word "resign" scrawled on his face.

"Chris Armstrong is a radical homosexual activist who got elected partly funded by the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund to promote a very deeply radical agenda at the University of Michigan," Shirvell said on CNN.
See? SEE? Armstrong never would have been elected if HOMOSEXUALS hadn't contributed MONEY to his campaign! Who says THEY have a right to participate? Where is THAT in the constitution?

You could question the judgement of a man in his 30's meddling in college politics, I suppose, or devoting his off-hours time to a blog called "Chris Anderson Watch" (not currently online) instead of anything else, but that's his perogative, right? Well, yes it is.

"He does satisfactory work and, off hours, he's free to engage under both our civil service rules, Michigan Supreme Court rulings and the United States Supreme Court rule," (Attorney General Mike) Cox said.

Cox did, however, call Shirvell's actions "offensive."

"He's clearly a bully. Absolutely. And is he using the Internet to be a bully? Yes," Cox said. "But is that protected under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution? Yes."
So what is he really guilty of, aside from rabid anti-gay hysteria? Nothing! And probably he has a little crush on Chris Anderson, but that ain't no crime. So hopefully when he returns from his voluntary leave he'll get his reprimand for making the AG's office look bad and keep his job, though more likely he'll be moved to a less prominent department. Maybe Assistant Postmaster General could be made available? Those people have a rep for mental stability.

Unit Cohesion is Saved

Up until yesterday it looked possible that a soldier in the US Military might have to shower, naked, with men that he knew were gay. Now, thanks to a few very, very brave Democrats, that soldier is taking a shower today, surrounded by potentially gay men. Maybe they all are, maybe none of them are; maybe it's just the guy right behind him. He could ask, I guess. No, just kidding, he can't ask. And they can't tell.

Thus the United States remains in that club of nations that forbids open homosexuality and we can march proudly alonside Communist China, North Korea, Cuba, Iraq, Iran and Pakistan among others, while our sworn enemies with their degenerate armies (Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Uruguay) can swish around to their certain defeat because of the lack of Unit Cohesion.

It's great when logic trumps prejudice and fear, innit?
