Spinnin' Like a Gyroscope

Here is the article, in its entirety.

The man who was arrested for a bomb scare Wednesday at Heartland Aviation has been released on a $3,000 signature bond.

Patrick J. Knauf, 43, of Eau Claire was arrested for the violation of making a bomb scare under state statute 947.015.

The threat was made after 5 p.m. Wednesday, just hours after Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker made a brief appearance at Heartland.

The building was sealed off, and a thorough search by the Eau Claire Police Department and the Eau Claire Fire Department was made. No bomb was located, and Heartland Aviation has resumed normal operation.

The police department says this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no additional threat to the public.

Heartland Aviation sits adjacent to Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, located in the city of Eau Claire and the southernmost part of Chippewa County.

Investigation into the matter continues, and Knauf has yet to be formally charged. He is scheduled to return to court on April 19.

According to the Chippewa County district attorney’s office, Knauf participated in a public demonstration at the airport on Feb. 28 and/or March 2.
Gateway Pundit links to it. Note the headline:

BOMB THREAT At Scott Walker News Conference – Leftist Protester Arrested!

Far Left protester Patrick J. Knauf, 43, of Eau Claire was arrested on Wednesday for the violation of making a bomb scare under state statute 947.015. (...excerpts from the article, then)

Amazing!

A bomb threat was called in on a Walker rally and the media doesn’t report on it?

Unbelievable.

Again, let's assume this is satire rather than an actual attempt to report the facts. Because according to the article:

1) the bomb threat was called in "hours after" the governer made a brief appearance;

2) there is no indication of Knauf's political leanings in the article

3) there's not even evidence that it was a protest.

Besides, Gateway Pundit calls the Walker appearance a News Conference in the headline and a Rally in the body of the article, suggesting they don't really know what he was there for. Maybe he made an appearance to pick up dry cleaning. Just kidding, the Pierce County Herald calls it a news conference.

None of this stopped Breitbart from picking the story up, verbatim, from Gateway Pundit. It's not Breitbart's job to deliver accurate news! He's not a journalist, he's more a collagist, cutting and pasting whatever shiny thing fits best into the frame.
