Yet Another Example of How Obamessiah is Destroying American Business

The Cash For Clunkers program is a total failure! Look at this unexpected consequence!

Some auto dealers are running short of new cars even as the Senate is poised to join the House in adding $2 billion to the government's cash-for-clunkers program, which could sell another 500,000 vehicles.

...Dealers say they're running low on some models, especially small ones sought after in the clunkers program. The brightening economy and automakers' production cuts also have kept inventories tight.

"I'd buy another 300 Civics tonight," says Brian Benstock, general manager of Paragon Honda and Acura in Woodside, N.Y. Dealer Adam Lee says he would normally have 150 new cars on the lot at his family's Lee Toyota in Topsham, Maine. On Tuesday, he had 14.
This program is depleting our nation's precious supply of cars! What are the big three supposed to do now, employ people to build more? They can't afford that! We're in a RECESSION! Besides, if auto workers are unemployed, they should get off their lazy butts and get jobs. Auto companies shouldn't be forced by the government to employ people and sell things. It's socialism!

Okay, I'm getting off my soapbox now. Say, put a couple of wheels on this thing and it would make a good racer!

Yep.. Cause Honda & Acura are part of the Big three.

And as someone noted over at WAMK recently on 8/3 '...I wish I could say it stimulates the labor market as well but the truth is we're probably just bleeding off the overstock that already exists.'

As much as you change your mind, YOU should ruin for POTUS.

Hondas and Acuras are assembled in the US, using many US-manufactured parts. While the millionaires are overseas, the labor money goes here.

So I apologize. You proved me wrong. Cash For Clunkers DOES stimulate the labor market! It's puzzling to see you taking that mantle up but okay, if it lets me relax for a while.

But they're not part of the Big Three, now, are they? And they didn't receive any Bail-out money either, did they?

So while it wonderful many dealers are clearing up some of their lots, let's reflect and remember that quote "I wish I could say it stimulates the labor market as well but the truth is we're probably just bleeding off the overstock that already exists."

So, let's look at the facts, if they load proerly here:

3 of the top 5, and 4 of top 10 from Ford, who took no money.

2 of the top 10 not Big Three at all, and took no money.

5 of the top 10 are either full size PU's, mid-size SUV's or sedans.

Do we need to get into the 'climate control' / 'smaller vehicles use less fuel' debate again?

I believe that you are disappointed that the program didn't more rigidly control peoples car choices. And you are angry that the auto makers weren't given the stimulus money directly. What kind of Fasicst runs a program like that?

When I made that remark about using up existing inventories, that piece about the inventories hadn't yet been written. Flip flop or revision based on added information? I report, you decide.

No, you guys are the ones crying for fuel economy & reduction of greenhouse gases, and here the program to help get those clunkers off the road has 5 of the top 10 as full size, or close to it, vehicles, and 60 percent aren't even offering a hybrid option.

How is that helping fuel economy & reduction of greenhouse gases?

And as the independent report said, 175,000 to 200,000 of those sold vehicles would have sold, anyway.

Ur praising Obamessiah for handing out other peoples money?? that's your example of a success?

If I steal your wallet and stand on the street corner handing out $20 bills, that's a success?

If I hire a guy to invest my money, and he just keeps it or insists on giving me half the money back, then that guy isn't getting my business every four year.

Pool time, how many cars were sold in the month before cash for clunkers?
